About the programme

The census is a survey that happens every 10 years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. To support the census, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has created an inspiring teaching initiative called the Secondary Education Programme. Teachers in secondary schools across England and Wales can access free school and lesson content designed to bring the census to life for students aged 11 to 18 years.
